(chaz boroquez and i standing next to our collabo. He added his magic and I was honored.)
I posted about the LACMA Muse ‘Til Midnight event I was going to be painting live at. Here’s some flics and tidbits of that magical night.
Lucky to have been the featured artist along with Unification Theory. Usually Unification Theory gets down all freestyle but this night was a bit different. They wanted a large piece that went with the theme of the exhibit, Los Angelenos/Chicano Painters of L.A.: Selections from the Cheech Marin Collection.
It was an amazing night. Perfect weather for the rooftop event. My friends/family came out, I was surrounded by artists I love and the vibe was positive all the way. People ate, drank and danced it up to Queztal and Conjuntos Los Pochos. An already magical night was taken to the next level when Chaz Boroquez got to see the piece I did of him and honored us with some live painting himself.

I love me some Law and Order. I love all of them in the franchise minus Criminal Intent (I hate knowing who did right off the bat). I can watch a Law and Order marathon like nobody’s business. I found my root! My root is when my mom and I (I was around 5) were on welfare living in National City, my daily lunch routine consisted of Campbell’s Chicken Noodle soup, one slice of white bread with mayo and processed cheese square, sat in front of our black and white tv and watched Perry Mason. I didn’t understand all the drama but I loved it.
I didn’t have my camera cord for a minute so that’s why I’m late on posting these.Last Saturday I went to the opening reception above to meet up with Gustavo and Alma. They are friends with Kami and said I’d love his work, and boy did I.
That’s Kami standing in front of my favorite of his. He was super nice.
I’m not a gold person, I’m all about the silver so I decided to see if GoldKit was legit and if my scrap would help me get some extra cash money. Any extra money is welcomed during these hard timers.
I don’t know how much gold those ladies in the commercials sent in claiming they received $500 checks cuz um… I sent the above and my grand total was $36.50.
On the morning of July 25th, the world lost a great man, Dr. Randy Pausch, to pancreatic cancer. He was 47. Pausch’s “Last Lecture” (video above) really inspired me. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2006 and was given months to live. I had been keeping up with his progress via his update page. His last post was on June 26th.
Below is ABC’s special on Randy Pausch.
Dear Randy,
Thanks for sharing your optimism, wisdom and inspiration.
